What is the difference between a credit card and a debit card?

Credit and debit cards have several features in common: they can be used to pay for any purchases, transfer money, and withdraw cash.

At the same time, a debit card allows you to use only your own funds from the account. A credit card provides access to borrowed funds. You can spend them at any time and repay the bank within the grace period so as not to pay interest.

Unlike a debit card, a credit card is not suitable for receiving salary payments and cannot be linked to loan or mortgage accounts.

Visually, the cards differ not only in design, but also in the markings on the front side: debit cards usually say DEBIT, while credit cards say CREDIT.
