This is a specially opened account with a broker that allows an investor to trade securities, currency, and other assets
What a brokerage account is for
By law, an ordinary person cannot directly participate in exchange trading. For this, an intermediary is required — a broker licensed by the Central Bank. The investor submits an instruction through the app, by phone, or in another way, and the broker buys or sells assets on their behalf
To open an account, go to the Investments section on the app's home screen
A brokerage account is available to citizens of Russia over 18 years of age who are tax residents of the Russian Federation
You can top up the account in two ways:
- using bank details
- directly from an Uralsib debit card or a current bank account
To top up a brokerage account, tap Top Up in the What to Buy or Portfolio section
Funds are usually credited to the bank account within 24 hours. The credited amount may be lower due to withholding of profit tax.
An Individual Investment Account (IIA) is a special brokerage account that allows you to trade on the exchange and also receive part of the money back in the form of a tax deduction
Who can open an Individual Investment Account (IIA)
Any citizen of Russia over the age of 18 who is a tax resident of the Russian Federation can open an Individual Investment Account (IIA)
You can open an Individual Investment Account (IIA) directly in the Uralsib Online app in the Investments section on the home screen.
How to top up an Individual Investment Account (IIA)
You can top up an Individual Investment Account (IIA) only in RUB — using the account details or directly from an Uralsib debit card or a current bank account
Tap Top up in the What to buy section or Top up account in the Portfolio section
Withdrawal of funds will result in the automatic closure of the Individual Investment Account (IIA). If you close the account early, you will have to return the tax deduction received and pay penalties. The exception is transferring funds from an IIA-3 for expensive medical treatment. In this case, the account will remain open and the right to the tax deduction will be preserved
To withdraw money from an Individual Investment Account (IIA):
1. Go to the Investments section → Profile
2. Click Withdraw money
3. Select Individual Investment Account (IIA) → specify the amount
4. Click Transfer
5. Confirm the transaction with a code or biometrics
Contribution deduction
If you contribute RUB 400,000 to your Individual Investment Account (IIA) each year, you can receive a refund of up to RUB 52,000 at a Personal Income Tax (PIT) rate of 13% and up to RUB 60,000 at a rate of 15%. If you do not pay Personal Income Tax (PIT) (for example, as a self-employed person or an individual entrepreneur), you will not be able to receive the contribution deduction; only the income deduction will be available
Income deduction
You can fully exempt your income from exchange transactions from tax if the amount of income does not exceed RUB 30 million. For example, if you earned RUB 40 million through an Individual Investment Account (IIA), then after closing the account on time, you will need to pay tax only on RUB 10 million
Individual Investment Account (IIA)-3 is a new type of individual investment account that replaced old-type accounts on January 1, 2024
Features of Individual Investment Account (IIA)-3
From January 1, 2024, only Individual Investment Account (IIA)-3 can be opened. If you have an active old-type Individual Investment Account (IIA), you will not be able to open a new one. You must close the old account or convert it to the new one
*Expensive medical treatment includes: treatment of cancer, stroke, acute myocardial infarction, tuberculosis, severe forms of hearing and eye diseases, aortic diseases, benign brain tumor, as well as heart valve transplantation
You can buy or sell securities and currency in the product card. To do this, select the account, order type, number of lots or amount, and then click the Buy or Sell button
At what price the securities will be purchased
You can choose the order type and conditions under which the transaction will be executed:
The exact transaction amount, including the commission, will be calculated after it is executed on the exchange, and detailed information can be found in the Transactions and Orders section
The broker calculates and withholds Personal Income Tax (PIT) on profits from transactions and then remits it to the state budget.
You need to pay taxes yourself in several cases:
How transactions are taxed
After the end of the tax period, the broker withholds Personal Income Tax (PIT) from the client's available funds. The broker may also withhold tax from funds blocked on the FORTS derivatives market as collateral. Usually, Uralsib Broker specialists warn about this and suggest funding the account in advance for the amount of tax
How dividends or coupon payments are taxed
Coupon payments and dividends are credited to the account net of tax
Detailed information about all transactions and fund movements can be found in the Investments → Portfolio → Transactions and Orders section
A tool that helps track securities payouts and make the right decision about buying or selling at the right time
Go to the Investments section and tap the Profile icon → Tariff plan
Where to view all tariffs
You can view the full list of tariffs on the Uralsib Broker website https://tvoybrok.ru/prices
The securities will be purchased at the current market price. A volatility adjustment factor is built into the mechanism for purchasing securities and currency; it will not allow securities to be purchased at a higher price if the price changes sharply during the transaction. The exact transaction amount, including the commission, will be calculated once it is executed on the exchange, and detailed information will be available in the "Transactions and orders" section.
The bank details for topping up accounts can be found in the “Investor Profile” section.
Coupons and dividends are credited to the account net of tax.
You can view information about your tariff in the “Investments” → “Investor profile” → “Tariff plan” section
