Acquiring for legal entities

What is acquiring?

Acquiring allows you to accept cashless payments in various ways: using bank cards, mobile applications, as well as through other devices.

After payment, the client's funds are first credited to the acquiring bank and then transferred to the company's current account. Special equipment is used to accept payments — a payment terminal.

There are two main types of acquiring:

  • Merchant acquiring — card payments are accepted through a terminal.
  • Internet acquiring — online payment for goods and services on the company's website or through digital channels.

What does the merchant acquiring fee for legal entities depend on?

The final acquiring rate is formed taking into account several parameters: the company's turnover, the number of retail outlets, and the type of business activity.

The fee includes:

  • interbank fee (IRF);
  • payment system fee;
  • processing services;
  • POS terminal maintenance costs;
  • additional expenses.

IRF accounts for the largest share of the fee. This is the amount that the acquiring bank transfers to the bank that issued the customer's card. Its amount depends on several factors:

  • Card type. The higher the card class (for example, gold or platinum), the higher the fee.
  • Business category (MCC). Each industry has its own rates.
  • Payment method. Payment with a magnetic stripe is usually more expensive than contactless payment or payment using a chip.

Can acquiring be connected at Uralsib if a legal entity's current account is opened with another bank?

Yes, this option is available. To connect acquiring at Uralsib, it is not necessary to have a current account with the same bank. You can accept cashless payments even if the account is opened with another credit institution. The reverse option is also possible: you can use acquiring from a third-party bank with funds credited to an account at Uralsib.

At the same time, it is worth considering that when using different banks, acquiring terms — such as the commission and crediting timeframes — may differ.

What equipment can be connected at Uralsib?

The bank offers several equipment options so that businesses can choose the right solution for their needs:

  • Countertop terminal — installed at the checkout, operates from the mains and is suitable for locations with a fixed payment point. Pin pad installation is possible.
  • Portable terminal — optimal for cafés, delivery services, and on-site service. Has a built-in battery and does not require a constant connection to the power supply.
  • Integrated terminal — connected to the cash register system via cable and compatible with most cash register software.

You can also choose a 3-in-1 cash register that supports acquiring from Uralsib. Installation of any equipment usually takes 3–5 business days.

What should I do if the terminal stops working?

If the terminal is out of order, first restart the device and check the network connection. If this does not help, contact the bank's technical support or your manager. Specialists will promptly help resolve the issue or, if necessary, replace the equipment. Support service contacts are provided in the accompanying documents and are available on the bank's website.
